Better Rube Goldberg Machine
ConceptsMany Physics and Engineering concepts are used to calculate the steps of this Rube Goldberg. The ones used to calculate these steps are Mechanical Advantage(MA), Force(F), and Potential Energy(PE). There was also five simple machines that were used to build this Rube Goldberg Machine. Simple machines which are basically machines that apply or work with forces. The five of them used in this project were levers, pulleys, inclined planes, screw, and wheel and axle.

This was our Do It Better Project. We had to pick a project we had done previously and redo it making it better. We decided to redo our rube goldberg. A rube goldberg is a complicated machine the completes a simple task. Our new machine is called Ran Out of Time. It is graduation themed and we almost did not finish in time that is were the name comes from. The end product is setting off a popper and showing a graduation poster.

The projected turned out very well. All the parts work, maybe not as well as they could, but our project has about 80% success rate. This a much higher rate than our previous rube goldberg. Making this project with the group has taught me a lot about myself. I learned that I do a much better job at explaining out by drawing it out or making smaller version of it. I also learned that I prefer working hands on. I did not do much in schematics or presentation making. The improvisational skills of our group was definitely one for our groups peaks. We had to make up a lot of the steps on the spot because we did not have enough time to follow our original plan. Even though we can very little time we got a lot of work done. We did have some pits though. Some parts took longer than is should have to build. I think we could have done a better job at presenting our work to the class. My group had another peak which was our teamwork. We worked together well and got along. We did not have any disagreements while building which made things go a lot more smoothly. Personally though I think I could have done a little more. In the future I plan to be more involved and contribute more to the group. This has been a great year in STEM. It was really fun and rube goldberg is definitely one of my most favorite project. I'm so glad that I was able to end the year by building this rube goldberg.
