Hydroponic Floating Garden
|
For this project we had to solve a problem with biotech. First we can to research a problem. We chose the problem of overpopulation. From there we had to make three different solutions using bio engineering. Then from those three we chose one to go in depth on and make a presentation. The solution we did was floating hydroponic gardens. The presentation includes details on our solution like designs, price, production, and effect etc.

Concepts
- Hydroponics-System of growing plants without soil but instead using nutrient water.
- 3-D modeling- Using program like 123d tinkerCad or Autodesk to make three dimensional models.
- Water filtration-Cleaning of water by remove biological and physical waste.
- Biotech-The use of biology for industrial or other purposes.
- Overpopulation-When the population's large size is too much for the resources available.
- Ph level-Way to measure the acidity of liquids.
The problem we were trying to solve was overpopulation. Our solution included hydroponics to grow food for the ever growing population. While researching hydroponics we learned about water filtration and Ph levels, which go to making our hydroponics work. We used 3-D modeling to make our barge digitally to be shown in our presentation.
Reflection
The project turned out great. The slide presentation has a lot of clear information and fully explains our solution. As a group we worked together well and got a lot of work done. We probably could have communicated more though. The were times when we were just doing our own thing without saying a word to each other. There were a few times when two or all three of us accidentally were working on the same thing. This team did not goof around unlike some other groups I have been in. I learned a lot of cool skills like how to do make a hydroponic garden and schematic drawing. I really enjoyed doing the research on hydroponic. My work ethic for this project was a little low. I feel I could've done more to help and next I will. I was to most distracted in the group. Hopefully next year my focus will be better.
